About “Silk and Skin”

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the party? When are they held? The location and event details are disclosed only to members. We are in Fairfax County, just inside the Beltway. We try to keep the schedule here updated and we also list our parties on SLS and Fetlife.

Are there hotels nearby? Yes. A lowdown on the best options can be found at www.silkandskin.org/hotels.htm

What is the age range of your members? We have a few 20somethings at every party (mainly single males for the ladies’ enjoyment). Most members are between 35 and 65. A few are even older and still kicking.

Is the group inclusive? Yes!! There are black guests at every party and a sprinkling of everything else. All are welcome here. Who you play with is personal, but if you don't want to be at an event with people who don't look like you and play exactly like you, we don't want you there, anyway.

We have a number of loyal repeat offenders who are transgender and welcome them with open arms, along with bisexual people of every type. We're not really targeted at gay men or women but they are welcome to come on down. Cheaters are NOT welcome. Neither are people who do not agree with our enthusiastic support of sexual and personal freedom and our opposition to idiocracy.

How many members do you have? What is the mix at parties? Membership varies from month to month, but there are about 600 on our invitation list. Our first parties in the new location had around 55 people but since early 2025 nearly every party has sold out at more than 70.

We aim for a male/female ratio of about 1.2 to 1, and it's tweaked to account as much as possible for the er, appetite of the female guests. The ratio is higher at a party with more single ladies and lower at a party that has more couples. We work hard to avoid having too many single men.

We have always had far more single people than the average Lifestyle party. Because we allow single men (and they are handpicked by a female rather than being allowed in simply based on ability to pay), we attract more single women. Parties that do not allow single men often claim to have single female members but usually there are few or none in reality. The large presence of singles changes the atmosphere: it's wilder and less predictable. After experiencing this, I rarely go to couple-only parties any more because I find them boring. However, if the presence of single males irritates you, go elsewhere.

Is it BYOB? Yes. You are welcome to bring the alcoholic beverages of your choice.

Will there be food? Hell, yes. We put out a real spread of food. Salmon, shrimp, sushi and tenderloin are not improbable.

Tell us about YOU. Your mistress of ceremonies is a middle-aged single woman with a great deal of swinging experience (i.e. a slut of epic proportions). My late husband and I were swingers the entire time we were together and I've remained active as a single. I hosted parties for 12 years at two other locations and got back into the scene after a long hiatus. I am bisexual and a BDSM switch, and might be seen doing pretty much anything at a party. I am Wild Thing22151 on Fetlife, Entirelyreal on SLS. I am in a number of the photos scattered around this site.
